Raizes Brasileiras is proud to introduce a team of committed highly professional parents and postgraduate students who are pledged on bilingualism and on sharing positive values and knowledge of the Brazilian culture and language.
Lilian Fleuri, PhD
Heritage Language consultant
Lilian is a highly experienced linguist and language teacher, and also a mother of two fluent trilingual boys. As a PhD in Linguistics/Translation Studies, Dr Fleuri teaches at the School of Languages and Cultures of the University of Queensland, since 2011. For over 17 years, Lilian has taught second languages to young children to highly qualified adults, coordinated courses and taught at language courses at UFSC (Brazil), Middlebury College (USA), and at the UQ (Australia). Experienced in teaching both private and group students of all levels, Dr Lilian Fleuri is currently the pedagogical coordinator, office director, teacher, and creator of Project Raízes Brasileiras.

Universo do Descobrir
Besides being the mother of her lovely 3 years-old bilingual girl, Rita is a creative, sweet, dedicated educator for toddlers and children. Graduated in Brazil in biology, Rita persuited the early education career in Australia. Since 2017 Rita has been working with Raizes Brasileiras, being responsible for teaching at Universo do Descobrir and creatively developing teaching and learning activities and material for toddlers.
Franciele is an expert second language teacher, and an dedicate Master Linguistics student at the University of Queensland. She is specifically researching about bilingual identity contruction in heritage language speakers, among Brazilian immigrant children. At Raizes Brasileiras, Franciele is teaching Universo do Adquirir, demonstrating to master the techniques of making non-Portuguese speaking children to acquire the language in a fun and motivating way.
Assistant Pedagogical coordinator
Alyne is professional educator since 2004, graduated in pedagogy at Universidade de Brasilia (UNB). Since the beginning of her carreer she realized her passion for early childhood education and for the challenges involved in it. In Australia she acquired a Diploma in Steiner Education in 2011, and worked for a Steiner kindergarder in Melbourne for 2 years. Today, Alyne is a mother of 3 lovely bilingual children. Her daily life in motherhood inspires and teaches her in depth meaningful ways to educate young children.
Ronno Diniz Ferreira

Ronno is an enthusistic professional soccer coach, and also father of a 3yo bilingual-boy.
Born in Brazil and graduated in the United States, at the King University, Ronno is specialized in soccer coaching, he has coached boy and girls of all ages, in Brazil, the USA, and now in Australia. Currently, he works in Brisbane for the New farm United Soccer Club; Australian Futsal Association; Gol Brazil Academy; the Brisbane Boys College, Mtt Gravatt Hawnks, and Jinga Brazil Australia.
Drama classes instructor
Alessandra is a caring, dynamic, passionate and experienced child educator. Mother of three bilingual-children, Alessandra has worked in childcare in Brisbane since 2014. Back in Brazil, Alessandra graduated at CAL – Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1999, concluding the Diploma for Acting and Performance. As an actress and drama teacher, she had worked teaching children to develop their confidence, creativity, social skills, mental and physical skills through theater activities. This work was carried in public schools at São Paulo and SESC-SP. Currently, Alessandra is studying a Diploma for Early Childhood Education and Care. At Projeto Raízes Brasileiras, she is responsible for teaching and developing creative learning activities in Portuguese for children between 2 and 5 years old, and teaching drama classes for +7 yo. kids.
Andreia (Deia is her capoeira's nickname) is one of the funder of a Brisbane capoeira's group called Beribazu. Mother of a lovely 2 years-old bilingual boy, Andreia is full of energy to majesticly instruct young children in the art and game of capoeira, which is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. It is known for its quick and complex maneuvers, predominantly using power, speed, and leverage across a wide variety of kicks, spins, and other techniques.
Carla do Amaral
Carla is an experient art teacher and a devoted PhD student of design at the QUT. Her carismatic way to teach children naturally engages them in the task of drawing and making arts through Portuguese-language. At Raizes Brasileiras she headed a project of teaching 7+ year-old children the arts of making comics. The outcomes were amazing! Children felt motivated and engaged in the language, by drawing and writing their creative stories.
Always inspired by her 2 bilingual children, Paula Tura proves to be an amazing artist, writer, and educator. She seduces and involves through Portuguese language every child in her audience during her performances, story tellings, and book readings. Author of two master pieces of the infant Brazilian literature of the Australian diaspora, Madeixas and O Desejo de Nina, Paula activelly contributes to an inclusive, harmonic, and bilingual Australian society. Raizes Brasileiras is pleased to have her delivering high quality performances in Portuguese to our children, and very interesting bilingual workshops to parents and carers.
